The problem nobody warns you about
When you upload a file to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or any other AI tool, every value in every cell goes to that company's servers. That includes the things buried in columns you might not think about: a customer name column three sheets over, the email address column your export always includes, the Social Security Numbers in an HR report you're trying to analyze for headcount trends. The AI doesn't need any of that to answer your question about totals or patterns — but it gets sent anyway.
What this tool actually does (vs. what Microsoft's tool does)
If you searched "remove personal information from Excel" and found Microsoft's Document Inspector — that removes hidden file properties like who authored the document. It does not touch the data in your cells. The names and numbers in your spreadsheet are completely untouched by that tool. This tool removes the actual cell values.
What gets removed — your call entirely
We don't auto-detect what counts as "personal." You know your file; you tell us which columns to clear. We blank them, not delete them — the column headers stay in place and the rows stay the same count, so the structure the AI will analyze is faithful to the real file.
